John R. Kelley, age 65, of Anderson, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 26, 2018 following an automobile accident in Anderson. He was born on February 10, 1953 in Elwood, the son of John Kelley and Myrna (Wells) LaShure. John was a 1971 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School.

He retired in January 2015, from US Foods in Fishers where he worked for many years. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. John fondly remembered time spent fishing with his grandpa.

John loved movies and music was one of his passions. He was a avid sports fan. He was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings, enjoyed the Chicago Bulls, the St. Louis Cardinals and Purdue sports.

More than anything, John loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. John is survived by his mother, Myrna LaShure, 2 daughters, Tara (Kenny) Holford of Anderson and Heather (Brock) Bundy of Anderson, 6 grandchildren, Tyler Holford, Jordan Holford, Allison Holford, Alex Holford, Ava Bundy, and Max Bundy, siblings, Danny (Lea Anne) Kelley of GA, Brian (Shirley) LaShure of Marcellus, MI, Gary LaShure of Elwood, Robby LaShure of Elwood, and Debbie (Joe) Hancock of Elwood, several nieces and nephews, and his companion/cat, Honey. John was preceded in death by his father, John “Leo” Kelley, grandparents , Ruth & Leroy Wells, and former in-laws, Bill & Lois Brooks.

Funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood. Private family burial will take place at Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League of Anderson through the funeral home. Online condolences can be given at www.
