Obituary for Joseph F. Wojtowicz Joseph F. Wojtowicz, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Born October 22, 1929, son of the late Adam and Eleanora (Kowal) Wojtowicz, he was a lifelong Chicopee resident. Joseph was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and served proudly aboard the USS Grand Canyon.

He worked for Uniroyal Tire Co. As a welder for many years and was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr. Joe enjoyed dancing to Polka music with his wife and working together with her on woodcraft projects. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing with his brothers and he was an avid farmer and gardener.

Joseph was predeceased in 2004 by his beloved wife, Betty (Slate) Wojtowicz and is survived by three loving children, Richard Wojtowicz and wife Donna, of Wells, ME, Joanne Albano and husband Gary, of Chicopee and James Wojtowicz and wife Liz, of San Francisco, CA; loving granddaughter, Jennifer Patsellis; cherished great granddaughter, Violet; and a brother, Frank Wojtowicz and wife Phyllis, of Ludlow. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 9:30AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica, 566 Front St., Chicopee, followed by Committal Services with Military Honors in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
