Obituary for Robert A. Garczynski Robert A. Garczynski, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 7, 2018, with his loving wife Marie at his side. Born June 29, 1951, son of Alice M. (Kaput) and the late Louis E. Garczynski, he was a Chicopee resident for most of his life. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1969, Robert continued his education in the field of art, his passion.

Robert was involved in art his entire life. One of his first jobs was in the field of graphic arts where he progressed to the hub of the art world in the area. Everyone came to him for technical information.

He later expanded to home town collections, when he produced collector’s Christmas ornaments. His final work was designing cards for “File of Life”. Robert enjoyed photography and carpentry.

An avid gardener, he also produced showstopping Christmas displays at his home. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-five years, his best friend since high school, Marie C. (Simonich) Garczynski; loving mother, Alice M. Garczynski of Chicopee; sister, Debra Dabrowski of Chicopee; sisters-in-law and spouses, Pat and Al Yagmin, Jane and Mike Pawlishen, Cindy and Wally Kwiecien, Sandra and Gary Cote, and Theresa and Wesley Ankiewicz; brother-in-law, Michael Simonich and Kim; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral home service for Robert will be held Friday at 10AM in Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, with burial following in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday 4-7PM and Friday 9-10AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101. Upcoming Events Visitation , OCT 11.
