Obituary for Julia M. Hawn Julia M. (Vanasdale) Hawn, 82, died on Monday, November 5, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Hawn. Julia was born in Dover on May 12, 1936, daughter of the late Harry and Nettie (Baker) Vanasdale.

She was a registered nurse for the York Lutheran Home for 35 years. She attended Hayshire United Methodist Church. Julia enjoyed traveling and doing crafts, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Dan V. Hawn of York; two daughters, Lisa K. Young and her husband, Glenn of York and Laura L. Strayer and her husband, Steve of Lima, OH; a grandson, Benjamin T. Stambaugh and his fiancée, Cassie Rutledge of Mount Joy; and a granddaughter, Hannah L. Strayer of Lima, OH. She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Hoff and a brother, Robert Vanasdale. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Hayshire United Church of Christ, 100 Haybrook Drive, York, PA 17406 with the Rev.

Brenda K. Marin officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hayshire United Church of Christ, 100 Haybrook Drive, York 17406 or to a charity of your choice.
