Karen DeHenning Dennehy, 59, Sandusky, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Admiral’s Pointe, Huron. She was born on February 23, 1959 in Sandusky to the late Harold and Ruth (Fortuna) DeHenning. KD was a 1977 graduate of Sandusky High School, where she was a manager for the SHS swim team.

She loved Sandusky and her Blue Streaks! She was employed as a Title Examiner for Lawyers Title, Sandusky, and also worked for Firelands Board of Realtors. Karen spent 6 years in Los Angeles, CA, enjoying her time there with her family.

Her hobbies included artwork, such as painting and calligraphy, shooting pool, spending time with family and friends, visiting at Fort Myers Beach, FL, and Saturday afternoons watching her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. KD was one of the biggest fans of the boss, Bruce Springsteen, whom she saw live over 25 times. She is survived by her son, Collin Dennehy, Sandusky; sister, Jeanie (Larry) Feagan, Columbia Station, OH; brother, Steve DeHenning, Holland, OH; nieces, Melissa Wilson and Shelly DeHenning; and a nephew, Michael DeHenning.

She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Karen’s name may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
