Kevin J. Holmes, 56, of South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Kevin was born on February 15, 1962 in South Bend to Jeral “Jerry” A. Holmes and Mary Ann (Harvey) (Holmes) Weaver and has lived in the North Liberty and South Bend area for most of his life. Growing up in North Liberty, Kevin participated in the Boy Scouts of America and attended North Liberty High School.

After graduating from High School, Kevin moved to the South Bend area where he enjoyed volunteering at The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on Western Avenue in South Bend. He also was a volunteer at The Clubhouse of Saint Joseph County, South Bend. Kevin previously attended church at the North Liberty Lutheran Church and at the North Liberty United Methodist Church.

Kevin is survived by his father, Jerry Holmes of North Liberty; sister, Kathy Cochran of North Liberty; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Weaver. Graveside Services for Kevin will be held at a later date at Eastlawn Cemetery in North Liberty, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 8604 Allisonville Road Suite 140, Indianapolis, IN 46250 or to The Clubhouse of St. Joseph County, 1153 Northside Blvd. , South Bend, IN 46615. Palmer Funeral Home Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
