Lauron H. Stuempges, age 91, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Carolina Assisted Living in Appleton. Lauron was born in Antigo on January 25, 1927 to the late Herman and Dorothy (Carlson) Stuempges. He proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army.

In 1951, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ingalls in Lily, WI. The couple enjoyed 49 years together until her passing in 1999. Lauron spent most of his younger years farming in Lily before moving to the Fox Valley in 1968.

He retired from the City of Menasha Water Department after working there for many years. After retiring, he worked at Associated Bank in Neenah for 15 years. Lauron also repaired snowblowers and lawnmowers as a hobby.

He enjoyed deer hunting and snowmobiling and was a member of the Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club. He is survived by two daughters: Brenda Krause, Appleton and Debra (Larry) Nelsen, Menasha; 2 sons: John (Joanie) Stuempges, Green Bay and Mark Stuempges, Appleton; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great greatgrandchild; and 2 sisters: Dona Powell, Pearson, WI and Mary (“Butch”) Bovet, AZ. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Kathern Mabry, infant sister Constance, and son-in-law David Elsner. Lauron recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was ready to go to heaven. Private services will be held in Appleton.

An internment ceremony will be held at 11 AM Saturday November 10 at Lily Cemetery, with Military Salute. Following, a luncheon will be served at the Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club.
