Lavonda (Bonnie) Snow passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was born in Hayden, Indiana on July 24, 1917. She was the daughter of Robert and Bertha Stanton.

She graduated from Springfield High School in 1935 and then worked as a proofreader at the Springfield News-Sun for several years. She was married for 62 years to Larned D. Snow who preceded her in death on March 28, 1997. She was a member of First Christian Church where she served as a teacher and then superintendent of the Junior Department for 45 years. She was a volunteer at Community Hospital for 40 years where she served as chairman of Patient Registration Volunteers. She was also a poet with poems published in the Springfield News-Sun, in several national books of poetry, two in London, England and several on the internet.

Survivors include 2 children Saundra (Sunny) (Louis) Faust, and Mark (Harriet) Snow; 9 grandchildren: Steve (Julie) Snow, Scott (Lisa) Meadows, Rhonda (William) Sealey, Douglas Snow, Michael (Amy) Snow, Aaron (Charity Gundolf) Snow, Hanna (William) Hudson, Rachel (Ben) Shockey, and Terrance Snow; 16 great-grandchildren: Blake Meadows, Jonathan (Katie) Bourland, Luke Bourland, Andrea (Rob) Lewis, Austin Bourland, Shannon (Eric) Hardenburger, Kelsey Snow, Hayden Snow, Leah Snow, Gavin Snow, Lily Wilson, Tanner Snow, Jack Hudson, Alice Hudson, Lucy Hudson, and Henry Hudson and 6 great-great-grandchildren: Hannah Bourland, Gabriel Bourland, James Bourland, Isabella Lewis, Caroline Lewis and one on the way. Services will be held at First Christian Church in Springfield, OH, Saturday, November 10, 2018, with her grandson, Scott Meadows and First Christian Church Senior Minister, Bill Geiger officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00, with services beginning at 2:00.

Burial site will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508 or the building fund at First Christian Church, 3638 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield, OH 45502. Bonnie’s family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Village for the kind and loving care they provided her for several years.
