Peterson, age 80, of Corry, PA, passed away on January 12, 2019, at the Corry Manor after a series of strokes and many years of dementia. She was born to Peter and Grace Hansen on April 16, 1938. Leah attended Corry schools and graduated from Corry Area High School on June 6, 1956.

She started work that same year at Corry Jamestown Corporation and was employed there for four years. Starting in 1968, Leah worked for C. J. Peterson and Son Plumbing for 18 years until her retirement. Leah married John W. Fisher on March 26, 1960.

He preceded her in death from a work related accident in 1969. On February 26, 1977, Leah married James C. Peterson, who passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Jo Frost.

She was an avid crafter and enjoyed sharing these activities with her grandchildren when they were young. Leah is survived by five step-children, Terry Peterson and wife Barbara, Richard Peterson and wife Deborah, Tracy Warren and husband Marc, Julie Beron and husband Patrick and Connie O’Connell and husband David. Also surviving are twelve step-grandchildren, Sara Hall, Nick Peterson, Ashley Reilly, Laura Peterson, Derek Peterson, Ali Rothrock, Julia Warren, Colin, Kelsey and Justin Beron and Ethan and Carly O’Connell.

Leah also had five step-great grandchildren, Liam, Cooper and Grayson Hall and Cora and Quinn Reilly. She is also survived by two nephews, Dane Frost and wife Sherry and Barry Frost. A private ceremony will take place at the convenience of the family.

As per her wishes, she will be interred in Pine Grove Cemetery with her parents and sister. The family wishes to thank Joe and Joette Amy for Leah’s care in the early days of her dementia and the caring nurses and aides at Corry Manor who work to make the lives of those with dementia bearable. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Corry Community Foundation, 1524 Enterprise Road, Corry, PA.
