Leo’s Obituary Screven, Ga. Leo Brant, 75 of Screven died Friday, February 22, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. The Sylvania native had lived in Wayne County most of his adult life and was a member of Ritch Missionary Baptist Church.

He was deeply loved by his family and friends. Leo was a former owner of Bayside Palm Tree Sales and former mayor of Screven. He was a devout fan of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt and Elvis Presley.

Leo was a caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Selma Brant; two sisters, Elizabeth “Lib” Steed and Roberta “Bert” Williams and two brothers, David and Alvin Brant. Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Diane Hutto Brant of Screven; two daughters, Dawn (Lane) Brant-Fennell of Jennings, Fla.

, Dana (Tony) Brant-Templeton of Rincon; a son, David (Missy) Brant of Jesup; 4 grandsons, Lee Brant, Holden Leo Brant, Anthony and Jesse Templeton; a sister, Peggy Cannon of Guyton; two brothers, Lannie (Janice) Brant of White Oak and Billy (Lucille) Brant of Kingsland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Shon Cunningham officiating.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 prior to services at the funeral home. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
