Campbell August 21, 1943 – February 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Linda D. “Linnie” Campbell, age 75 of Brown City, passed away February 17, 2019 at the Hospice Residence in Marlette surrounded by her family. She was born August 21, 1943 in Marlette to G. Daniel and Edna Welch. She graduated from Brown City High School in 1961 and received her BA and Master’s Degrees from Central Michigan University.

Linnie married the love of her life, Ronald D. Campbell in 1964. A first grade teacher at Brown City Elementary School for 29 years, Linnie loved teaching children to read. Even though they were in her classroom for only a year, she considered each student one of her kids through adulthood.

Linnie was involved in her community. She was President of the Brown City Library Board and was instrumental in the building of the library. Linnie was a long time member of the Brown City United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the UMW.

Linnie was the kindest, most positive person you could meet. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. She put the needs of others before her own.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will truly be missed. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Ronald Campbell, three children; Julie Volk, Sue (Matt) Fogo and Bill (Marla) Campbell, eight grandchildren; Ashley (Tyler) Pettit, Travis Volk, Aaron Volk, Garrett Fogo, Hailey Fogo, Duncan Campbell, Natalie Campbell and Mia Campbell, a sister Sharon Cook and brother George Welch, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Edna Welch.

A visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday, February 20th, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown City United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Brown City Library or United Hospice of Marlette.
