Lois Ann Schwerer June 14, 1930 – May 11, 2018 Lois Ann Schwerer, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday afternoon, May 11, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. Lois was born on June 14, 1930 in Sandusky, OH to the late Earl and Marguerite (Brown) Mischler. Lois was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Sandusky where she enjoyed being a cheerleader.

Lois was very… Read More » social and enjoyed attending public events, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sandusky, Central Catholic Athletic Boosters, Sandusky Elks, Knights of Columbus, AMVETS, and the American Legion. She was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching her family’s sporting events, Cleveland sports teams, and St. Mary’s athletics.

She was a skilled cook, loved tending to her large family garden, had a wonderful time playing cards with her nursing friends “The Queens” and their spouses, and enjoyed her time by the water watching sunsets. Lois’ greatest joy was making wonderful memories with her family. Lois is survived by her husband, Eugene Schwerer, whom she married on April 18, 1953; daughter, Kathy (William) Baron of TN; four sons, Steve (Judy) Schwerer of Sandusky, Jeff (Jill) Schwerer of Whitehouse, OH, Dan (Margaret) Schwerer of Sandusky, and Michael (Jane Miller) Schwerer of Perrysburg, OH; fourteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave. Sandusky, OH 44870.

Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH. Those wishing to contribute to Lois’ memory may do so to Central Catholic Athletic Boosters (CCAB), 410 W Jefferson St. Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line Sandusky, OH 44870. A very special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Firelands Regional Medical Center and Stein Hospice Care Center for the loving care of my wife, our mother and grandmother.
