Obituary for Louis M. Cillo Louis M. Cillo, 76, long time resident of Ardsley, passed away on Sept. 29, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born May 14, 1942 in N.Y.C. to Catherine (Gammino) and Louis Cillo.
He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Louis is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 54 years, Kathy, and his loving daughter Kim Aitcheson (John) of Scarsdale. He is also survived by his two adored grandsons, Dustin and Louis.
He was predeceased by his daughter Donna in 2012. Lou was legendary for his sense of humor, his jokes, his love of boating, crabbing, getting together with family and friends and lending help to anyone who needed it. He was self-employed, specializing in residential and commercial construction and real estate development and management.
He was President, co-owner and Manager of Ardsley Executive Park and Saw Mill Executive Park Commercial Offices in Ardsley. Lou served on the Ardsley Board of Architectural Review, helped develop the current Ardsley Town Hall Bldg. , was a Board Member of the Ardsley Swim & Tennis Club and was on the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Assn.
and also served on the Board of the Prader-Willi N.Y. Assn. Lou, together with Kathy, have received many awards for their commitment to the principle that all people should be afforded equal opportunity to live to their highest potential within his/her community. His proudest accomplishment was assisting and being instrumental in the building and development of the Prader-Willi Syndrome group residence at Simpson Rd.
in Carmel for his daughter Donna and four other residents. Awards include the Community Service Leadership Award, Distinguished Advocacy Award and Special Congressional Recognition for Invaluable Community Service. The family would like to thank Dr. Joshua Raff, Dr. Malcolm Schoen and Dr. Mark Gordon and Staff at the White Plains Dickstein Cancer Center and White Plains Hospital Wing 5-F for the excellent medical care provided to Louis.
