Louis’ Obituary Louis Oliver Flake, Jr., 83, of McGaheysville, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1936, in Hammonton, New Jersey, and was the son of the late Louis Oliver Flake, Sr. and Margaret Rodio Flake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Martha “Ann” Flake; son, Louis Oliver Flake, III; daughter, Donna Marie Flake; two brothers and a sister.

Louis was employed at Kimble Glass in Vineland, New Jersey as a machine operator for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, making Christmas ornaments and playing the dulcimer, accordion, guitar and banjo. He is survived by his daughters, Deb Dove and husband, Rick of McGaheysville, Karen Simpkins and husband, Cliff of Cedarville, N.J. and Kimberly Soyer of Cedarville, N.J.; one sister, Margaret McCann and husband, Tom; ten grandchildren and one great grandson.

Pastor Wayne Wright will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery.
