Lucille Marie Killion, age 93, lifelong resident of Grove, went to be with the Lord at her home surrounded by family and loved ones on March 29, 2019. She was born on May 1, 1925 to Lucian and Laura (Inlow) Black in rural Delaware County, where she grew up and attended Delaware School. On October 28, 1943 Lucille married the love of her life, Paul Theodore Killion.

Lucille was a faithful wife and mother, raising her four children, tending to cattle and taking care of her family while Paul was gone working on pipeline. As they aged, Lucille was a devoted caregiver for Paul, as he struggled with Parkinson’s for many years. Lucille’s father helped to construct the Delaware Baptist Church when she was 8 years old, and she was a faithful member ever since that time.

She helped in Sunday School and at Vacation Bible Schools as long as her health would permit. Lucille was a straight shooter and loved to laugh and there was never any question of what her opinion was. She enjoyed working with her hands, flower gardening, sewing and cooking delicious homemade meals for her large family.

She was a beautiful woman and always dressed to the nines, even into her 90’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, loving parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandson. Left to cherish Lucille’s memory: four children, Marvin Jr. Killion, Ahanawake (Onnie) Masters and husband Bill, Ross Killion and wife Diann, Paul Willis Killion and wife Debbie, all of Grove.

Sisters: Yvonna Cunningham and Geraldine Dixon of Jay. Lucille was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Larry Masters, Marva Heatherly and husband Keith, Karla Wisdom and husband Don, Bill John Masters, Melvin Killion and wife Amy and Angie Parmley and husband Jeff; two step grandchildren Jeff Morisset and wife Dana and Jennifer Amiott and husband Jimmmy. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren, 7 step grand children, 5 great great grand children, 4 step great great grand children and a host of adoring nieces, nephews and friends (well most of them) lol.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-5pm Sunday, March 31, at Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services, 10201 US Hwy 59, Grove. Funeral services will be at 2pm Monday, April 1, 2019 at Delaware Baptist Church. Pastor Gary Bishop to officiate.

Burial at Butler Cemetery. The family request that donations be made to Delaware Baptist Church, 35551 S. 620 Rd, Grove, OK 74344, in Lucille’s memory. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Lucille M. Killion please visit our Sympathy Store.
