Richard’s Obituary Richard (Rich) Lee Ashburn, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 23, 2019. He was born August 18, 1947 in Iola, Kansas to his parents, Arthur (AW) William Ashburn and Ethel Mae Johnson-Ashburn. Rich graduated from DeSoto High School, Desoto, KS.

Right after graduation Rich went into the Military and served our Country with The United States Navy for 6 years aboard a submarine and cooked for his Navy Crew. He was a Disabled Veteran, God loving person, a people person, and jokester. Rich loved fishing, gardening and his fur baby, Precious.

Rich was the owner of The Bikers Outlet in Grove, OK. Even though he did not ride motorcycles due to his disability, he preferred Harley Davidson Motorcycles as his motorcycle of choice. Rich is preceded in death by his parents, AW and Ethel Ashburn; wife of over 20 years, Mary Lou Ashburn; 2 brothers, Claron Ashburn and Billy Art Ashburn; sister, Carol Day.

Rich is survived by his daughter, Heather Ashburn of Lawrence, KS; granddaughter, Zoe Ashburn of Lawrence, KS; 2 sisters, Shirley Ireland of Las Vegas, NM, Barbara Roberts and husband Gene of Edgerton, KS; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Rich’s family will have a Private Celebration Of Life Memorial Service at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 722 N. 46th St, Grove, OK 74344 with Shaunda J. Lawson, Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
