Lucille’s Obituary Lucille “Lu” Giese, age 98, of New Ulm passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Ridgeway on 23rd in New Ulm. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating. Burial will take place in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the church. To leave an online condolence for her family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: mvfh.org. Lucille is survived by her nieces and nephews and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald Giese; her parents and her brother, LeLend Oren. Lucille Catherine Oren was born December 21, 1920 in Madelia, MN to Alfred and Julia (Rono) Oren. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1943.

She was united in marriage to Donald Giese on December 12, 1943 at Freidens Church in New Ulm. Lucille worked at Montgomery Ward for 24 years and Polta Drug doing bookwork until retirement. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Ladies aid and Church Treasurer for 4 years.

She loved to watch sports, gardening, sewing, and reading and loved to travel with her husband.
