Marlyn J Tanzi, December 31, 1932 — October 02, 2018

Obituary for Marlyn J. Tanzi Marlyn J. (Wollman) Tanzi, daughter of the late Alma (Doland) and Frank Wollman, died peacefully at home in Newington, CT on Tuesday October 2, 2018. She was a longtime New Britain resident, moving to Newington in 2007. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Tanzi and her only son Jeffrey Tanzi.

Marlyn leaves her children who will miss her terribly, Doreen and Phil Marquis of Berlin and Sandi Porter of Newington, with whom she made her home; her five grandchildren, Michelle and Bob O’Dea of Madison; Joseph Tanzi of New Britain; Jaimee and Kenny Roman of New Britain; Kelsey Marquis and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez of Berlin; Curtis Porter of New Britain; eight great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Marlyn worked at Jerome Home for many years, but her most important and favorite job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in New Britain.

All her children got their love of reading from her. She loved her Boston Red Sox and could be heard yelling at or cheering them on while watching them play on T.V. Marlyn also loved watching and ordering from QVC and HSN. The UPS guy was a frequent visitor in New Britain, then in Newington.

Her name was MARLYN. There is no “I” in her name so please don’t call her Marilyn. She would correct anyone who mispronounced her name.

The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and aides who took such excellent care of her over the past year, especially Kelly, Melanie, Debbie and Kerry. Funeral services are Friday 10AM (October 5, 2018) at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church,147 West Main Street , New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
