Mary Ann Menard September 12, 1942 – January 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Ann Menard 76 of Marinette passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019, at BAMC. She was born on September 12, 1942, to the late Joseph and Mildred (Sloup) Konop in Lena. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1960 and received her teaching certificate from the Marinette Teachers College.

She later graduated from Northern Michigan University with her BS in Education and did her Post Graduate work at Northern Michigan, Cardinal Stritch, Virteribo, and UCLA. She had taught for 44 years, including at St. Pius X in Appleton, Menominee Catholic Central, Saint Anthony, Holy Family Marinette, and St. Thomas Aquinas Marinette from where she retired in 2007. She was recognized many times for her teaching in the Green Bay Diocese.

On June 27, 1964, Mary Ann married Wayne E. Menard at St. Wenceslas Church in Klondike, WI; he preceded her in death on October 9, 2007. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar Society, where she held President and Vice President, a former Jaycettes member and was President, Vice President, and Treasurer; Delta Cappa Gamma; and Youth for Understand High School Program Director for the North East WI Chapter for 8 years. Mary Ann loved traveling she had been to South East Asia to visit all the Mercado relatives and going all over with Wayne to visit all the guys.

She enjoyed camping, “Up North” at Town Corner Lake. Her hobbies include: sewing, knitting, reading historical fiction, working in her flowers, decorating for all the holidays, especially her front window, and spending time with her special friends once a month. Mary Ann is surivived by five sons: Basil (Mary) Mercado of Grafton; Beck Mercado of Daly City, CA; Jose (Kristin) Mercado of Green Bay; Tato (Rosanna) Mercado of Hayward, CA, and Glenn (Roberta) Monville of Marinette; eight grandchildren: Lorenzo, Mia, Frankie, Ana, Nathan, Joaquin, Jacob, and Lily; a great grandson, Thad; sister, Catherine Menard; two sisters in law, Marlene Menard and Marilyn Rupert; ten God children; many nieces and nephews, and friends, especially her neighbor, Dianne MacEachern.

In addition to her parents and husband, Wayne she was preceded in death by brother, Joseph (Debbie) Konop Jr and in laws, Woodrow and Lucille Menard; brothers in law, Warren and Woodrow; sister in law, Candace Menard. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23rd from 4-6pm. Vigil Prayers and Rosary will be held at 6pm with Rev.

Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Additional time of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24th from 9:30-11am at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph Parish Carney Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am with Rev.
