Oliver 82 of Marinette passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at BAMC. He was born on June 24, 1936, to the late Jimmie and Birdie (Garrison) Oliver in Town Creek, AL. In 1954, he moved to Chicago and began working at E.J. Brach Candy Co. on December 28, 1954.

After 44 years at Brach he retired in June of 1998 and moved to Marinette in 2002. On November 22, 1975, Lester married Barbara Dura in Chicago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Forest Park, IL.

He enjoyed taking casino trips, westerns, telling stories of his youth, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lester is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara of Marinette; his children: Tammie (William) Kerr of Minooka, IL, Karen (Jim) Shortall of Forest Park, IL, James (Jamie) Oliver of Angola, IN, and Donna (Louis) Adams of Highland, IN; eight grandchildren: John Kerr, Katherine Kerr, Kristina (Liam) Haran, Megan Braniff, Heather Shortall, James Shortall, Audrey Adams, and Louis Adams; two great grandchildren, Dagne and Ryder Kerr; sister, Blanche Zills of Town Creek, AL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Reed, brother, Leon Oliver, and sister, Carolyn Richards.

Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, February 10th from 1-3pm. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating.
