Mans, 76, of Marinette passed away surrounded by family on Friday February 22, 2019 at home. She was born October 2, 1942 in Chicago to the late William and Irene (Murphy) Werner. She graduated from Lena High School in 1960 and then earned her teaching certification from The Marinette Teachers College.

She later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education at UW-Oshkosh. Christine married Michael Mans on May 1, 1965 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette. She worked for the Peshtigo School District for 38 years, retiring in 2000.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar Society, the Red Hatters, the Women of the Moose, Marinette Jaycette’s, M & M Hockey Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. Chris loved spending time with family; especially watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed camping, spending her summers at the lake, reading, puzzles, needle point and watching hockey.

She volunteered at local schools reading to children and helping with standardized testing in her retirement. Chris is survived by her husband of 53 years, Mike, a son Patrick (Laura) Mans of Porterfield; a daughter Jennifer (Patrick) Hass of Marinette; four grandchildren: Erin, Emily and Brett Mans and Colin Hass. She is further survived by five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday February 26th from 4pm to 7pm. A Wake Service will be held at 7pm.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Holy Family Parish St. Joseph’s Church Carney Blvd from 9:30am to 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am with Reverend Celestine Byekwaso officiating.
