Mary Catherine’s Obituary Mary Catherine (Cat) Laws Medlin 85 of Lexington passed away Monday May 27, 2019 at her home. The family will receive visitors from 10 until 10:45 am Saturday June 1, 2019 at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. A graveside service at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum will follow.

Mrs. Medlin was born April 19, 1934 in Bryson City, NC to James Oliver Laws and Marie Medford Laws. She began her education in a one-room schoolhouse in Fontana Village and graduated with honors from Linwood High School in Marion, NC in 1952. She loved cooking and spending time in her beautiful flower garden and was well known for her needlecraft, having won over fifty awards.

She was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. She retired from PPG Industries and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Eugene Crotts, Jr. along with her brothers: Jim, Grayson, and Eugene Laws and her sisters: Evelyn Dotson, Joyce Taylor, Grace Laxton, and Penny Grimes.

Mrs. Medlin is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Jesse Joel Medlin as well as her son Robert Carlton Laws (Donna) of Lexington. Her daughters: Janet Digh (Mark) of S. Carolina, Lisa Huff of Florida, Amy Clickner (Craig) of Charlotte and a step-daughter Kay Brown of Lexington. Her grandchildren: Gina Sanchez, Stephen Howell, Eugene Crotts, Ben Camacho, Brent Laws, Jason Howell, Aaron Laws, Derrek Huff, Colby Laws, and Mary-Catherine Clickner, a step-grandson Gabe Brown, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Her brothers: David and Jack Laws of Lexington. Her sisters: Lucille Martin (James) and Imogene Aleshire (Leonard) of Arkansas, Lexie Corbett of Marion, and Carolyn Laws of Lexington. Sisters-in-law: Jean Laws of Kernersville, Ruby Laws of Lexington, and Ruth Laws of Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
