Vann’s Obituary Vann Vernon Watkins, age 82 of Highland Drive, Lexington passed away Sunday May 26, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Campbell officiating.

Burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday, June 3, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors given by Davidson County Honor Guard and North Carolina National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:30 PM Sunday. Vann was born in Davidson County December 30, 1936 to Bish Alexander Watkins and Ila Haltom Watkins.

He was a retired employee of Hickory Printing in High Point, a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Thomasville and a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clarice Perry and Perline Snyder and a brother Felix Watkins. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Dewanda Pierce Watkins; daughters, Vanda Watkins Stultz (Stephen), Leigh Ann Watkins Hemric (Phil) and Renee Watkins Berrier (Jeff) all of Lexington; grandchildren, Alex Stultz (Mari) of Denmark, Branson Berrier (Courtney) and Donovan Berrier all of Lexington; great-granddaughter, Molly Berrier; step-grandson, Phil Hemric, Jr.(Christi); step-great-grandchildren, Patrick, Brittany and Kylie Hemric; sisters, Myrtle Watson of Welcome and Zelma Miller (Johnny) of Lexington; brothers, Neil Watkins (Mary Lou) of Thomasville and Jim Watkins (Jan) of Lexington.
