Mary Ellen Bailey, 86 years old, passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Mrs. Bailey was born on April 28, 1932 in Lakeville to the late George C. and Sarah C. (Wolf) Avery. She has remained a lifelong resident.

On February 27, 1954 in South Bend, Mary and Arlin H. Bailey were united in marriage. Her husband preceded her in death on March 12, 2005. Four brothers, George, Charles, Donald and Ronald, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bailey of Walkerton; two sons, Gary Lee (Donna) Bailey of Granger, and David (Teresa) Bailey of South Bend; four grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Rosbrugh, Angela (Kevin) Ball, Matthew Bailey and Jason Bailey; seven great grandchildren; sister, Rose Potts of South Bend, IN and one brother, John Avery of Streamwood, IL. Mrs. Bailey formerly worked at Uniroyal Corporation and was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Osteopathic Hospital. She has been a lifelong member of Apostolic Temple Church and a faithful servant.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary Ellen Bailey may be donated to Apostolic Temple Church, 2221 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46613. Online condolences may be offered to the Bailey family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
