Obituary for Mary Fisher (Wert) Mary I. Wert Fisher, 86, of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in the Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at Campbelltown. Born in Hummelstown on September 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Nye Wert. Mary retired from Fulton Bank where she worked in Bookkeeping and as a Teller at the Hummelstown and Skyline branches.

She was a 1949 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. Mary was a member of Balsbaugh United Christian Church, Hershey. She was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed walking.

Mary is survived by her husband of 37 years, George W. Fisher, whom she married on November 8, 1980; one son, Edward John Murphy husband of Louise K. of Grantville; one grandson, Joshua Murphy of Phoenixville; five step children, Lorene Taraschi wife of James, and Robert Fisher husband of Lynn both of Palmyra, Phyllis Lapidus wife of Arthur of Pittsburgh, and Rosemary Bickle wife of Donald, and Kathleen Jennings wife of Michael, all of Grantville; ten step grandchildren; one sister, Shirley M. Bonawitz of Hummelstown; one sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Nace Wert of Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Lee Murphy; one step-son, Mark Fisher; three sisters, Dorothy I. Lenker, Betty J. Cassel, and Faye W. Wagner; and two brothers, Charles C. Wert and Wayne W. Wert. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 2 PM in Balsbaugh United Christian Church, 74 East Governor Road, Hershey, with Pastor Marlin J. Swope, her pastor, officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church from 1 PM until time of the service. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
