Mary R. Edwards, 80 of Mineral Wells passed away October 10, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 20, 1937 the daughter of the late Earl and Reta Winland. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1956 and shortly after graduation worked for the Parkersburg News and Sentinel as Society Page Manager.

She was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ. She is survived by her children, Gary Edwards (Beth) of Elizabeth, WV. Stephanie Simon (Kurt) of Knoxville, TN.

and Kimberlee Shears (Dwain) of Mineral Wells, WV. Her grandchildren, Aaron Edwards (Suzanne), Adrian Edwards, Jamie Terrell (Ryan), Stacy Simon, Kari Simon and Hannah Shears, two great grandchildren and a very special friend who she thought of as a son, Mark Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lee Edwards, one brother, two sisters and an infant sister.

Per her request there will be no public visitation. A private graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
