Obituary for Mr. Mel Vincent It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin. L. Vincent, 80, of Chateaugay, NY announce his passing on June 2, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Chazy Lake on July 30, 1937, son of Cleveland and Anita (Pollard) Vincent.

They predeceased him. He was married to Marilyn Cromp in January 1959 at St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay, NY. Mel served his country proudly from 1956 to 1960 in the US Air Force.

He retired from Reynold’s Metal Company in 1999 after 36 years. He enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes and being with family at Chazy Lake. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn; his children, Terry (Richard) Perry, Steve (Terry) Vincent, Tracie (Allen) Reece, Matt (Dawn) Vincent; his grandchildren, Amanda (Preston) Carter, Colleen (Dannie) Pennington, Tyler Perry, Brad Vincent, Andrew (Whitney) Vincent, Olyvia Vincent, Adam (Kallie) Reece, Kyle (Kelsea) Reece; great-grandchildren, Addison and Ben Carter, Jacoby and Cole Pennington, Dillan Vincent, Aydin and Brielle Reece; his sisters, Doris Reyor, Margie (Gerry) Lentz, Judy Lapoint, Sharron Perry; his Aunt Trudy; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Gerald Vincent. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay on June 8 at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at the Brainardsville Family Center.

Burial will be in Bellmont Center Cemetery, Bellmont at a later date In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Burke Fire Department.
