Visitation will be on Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Driggers and Decker Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Mike was born on December 02, 1974 to Larry and Joan Edwards in Syracuse, New York. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy, for 20 years until his retirement in 2017. He then went to work for The Raytheon Company as a mechanic.

Mike was a dedicated and loving man, who was devoted to his family and a strong supporter of youth programs and mentoring. He was heavily involved with the 4-H Club and Future Farmers of America. Mike was a big dreamer, but sometimes tended to have “squirrels” in his head.

Despite having so many ideas and thoughts running through his mind, he always had a willingness to go above and beyond for anyone. He never said “no” to anybody; he was always there and willing to help. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, any sports that involved shooting and taking care of his bees.

He also loved playing video games with his family, riding motorcycles and like any man, fast cars and trucks. A proud moment in Mike’s life, was when he got to be “Bike Man” For President George W. Bush. Mike’s love for his country was evident; he felt honored to have served in the United States Navy Seabees for as long as he did.

Mike was a very compassionate, kind hearted man, who adored his family. He was a very hard worker and excelled at problem solving. He never gave up.

His legacy will continue through his family. His presence will be certainly missed, but never forgotten. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Larry Joe Edwards.

He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 20 ½ years, Shannon Edwards; sons, Michael Edwards Jr. and Marcus Edwards; mother, Joan Edwards; brother, Matthew Edwards and his wife, Teresa; sisters, Mary Lackey and her husband, Dean Lackey and Marcey Edwards; nieces, Elizabeth, Madison, Kendal, Savannah, Isabella and Addison; nephews, Cody, Christian, Eli, and Caleb, and numerous other relatives and friends.
