Mildred “Midge” Barnes Ballard, 71, of Bardstown, passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1946, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and a member of Bardstown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Ballard III; parents, Mildred and C.R. Barnes Jr.; and brother, C.R. “Lum” Barnes.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Ballard of Cox’s Creek, and Mark Ballard of Louisville; daughter, Melanie Ballard (Bill) Sewell of Norfolk, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Taylor Ballard, Skyler Ballard, Jake Ballard, Dawson Ballard, Carter Ballard, Sam Sewell, Harper Ballard, Griffin Sewell, and Maisy Sewell; great-grandson, Teddy Ballard; and sister, Virginia Hayden of Yorba Linda, California. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Bardstown Baptist Church, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. Randal Pollock will officiate.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Tuesday May 1 and 9 to 10:15 am Wednesday May 2 at Barlow Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to Flaget Cancer Center, Hospice of Nelson County, or Bardstown Baptist Church.
