Norma Beryl Purdy January 10, 1921 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Norma Beryl Purdy, passed away on January 26, 2019, in Loveland at the Good Samaritan Loveland Village after 98 years of life. She was born January 10, 1921 to Charles Wesley Sears and Beryl Slater Sears in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was raised in Alhambra, California and went to cosmetology school.

On November 21, 1942 she married Alvie Miles Hopkins at the Hollenbeck Church of Christ in Alhambra, California. Norma was a great homemaker. Norma and Alvie had three children.

Richard Hopkins (Janet) of Berthoud, Marie Hopkins Koolstra (Wilbert) of Berthoud and Thomas Hopkins (Ruth) of Milliken. Norma was blessed with eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. After Alvie passed away in 1993 Norma married George Purdy November 9 1997.

She resided in Evergreen before moving to Johnstown, Colorado in 2003. Norma was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She had been a teacher in World Bible School and was known to have upwards of a hundred students at a time.

She enjoyed corresponding with some of the students that she maintained a friendship with long after she stopped being a teacher. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brother, granddaughter, husband Alva and husband George.
