Parnell Melvin Massey, Sr., 84, of Beaumont Ave. , Kannapolis, NC, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC He was born April 29, 1934 in Lancaster County, SC to the late Wyatt Massey and the late Amanda Isom Massey. Parnell was educated in the Lancaster County School System.

He was formerly employed with Cannon Mills. Parnell was a member Bethel AME Zion Church. Services will be held Saturday, February 2, at Living Waters Church of God, 166 N. Little Texas Rd, Kannapolis, NC.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Watson Massey.

Those left to cherish fond memories include two daughters, Sabrina Massey King (Ray) and Latisha Massey Graham (Ron) both of Kannapolis; two sons, Todd Massey of the home and Parnell Massey, Jr. (Yolanda) of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
