Melvin Gibson, 73, of Viola Dr., Charlotte, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1945 in Wilmington, DE to the late Mary Gibson White. Melvin was educated in the Delaware State School System and was formerly employed with Floyd Daniels-American Display.

Melvin attended Graceland House of Prayer in Concord. Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana Street, Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be 12:00 PM –1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00.

Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James White; a sister, Sylvia Barnes; a brother, Donald White. Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Joann M. Gibson of the home; one daughter, Gaither Y. White of Charlotte; one son, Le Venson Morgan of Waterbury, CT; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Audrey Miller (Seth) of Concord; two brothers, Le Nae White and Ivory White both of Concord; special cousin, Brenda Jamison of Wilmington, DE and a host of cousins, in-laws and friends.
