Recardiu “Tater” Andrea Mims, 67, of Duval St., Concord, NC passed away Friday, February 15, at Atrium Health – Northeast after a year and a half of declining health. He was born September 18, 1951 in Cabarrus County to Dorothy Washington Johnson and the late Moncure Mims. Recardiu was educated in the Cabarrus Count School System and was a 1970 graduate of Concord High School.

He was formerly employed by several restaurants. Services will be held Saturday, February 23, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St, Kannapolis NC. Visitation will be at 1:00 – 2:00 PM with funeral services following at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother Antonio Mims and father, Hoyle Johnson. Those left to cherish fond memories include his four daughters, Stephanie Ford of Charlotte, Amanda Lynch of Kannapolis, Recarsha Adgerson and Emma Mims both of Sumter, SC; two sons, Brian Leeper of Concord and Recardiu Mims of Sumter, SC; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy W. Johnson of Kannapolis; four sisters, Jacqueline Gilfillan of Chicago, IL, Sherree Wilkie of Landis, Marilyn Johnson of Kannapolis, Kathryn Hardin of China Grove; three brothers, Michael Mims of Concord, Winston Johnson of Kannapolis, Derrick Johnson of Aberdeen, MD; special friend, Christina Weaks and her son, Zyrien Moser of Concord and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
