Patricia Ada Bilbrey, age eighty-eight, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in the presence of her family. Patricia was born on October 21, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to Leo and Emma (Klusmeyer) Devany. Patricia married Charles R. Bilbrey on June 14, 1952.

He preceded her in death on February 27, 2003. Pat’s parents Leo and Emma, and her two brothers, Henry and Junior preceded her in passing. Also preceded her in death was her grandson Christopher Taylor.

Patricia is survived by her daughter Rose (Ron) Schmollinger of East Peoria, IL, son Michael (Linda) Bilbrey of Branson, MO and son John (Shea) Bilbrey of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Jackie) Schmollinger, Rebecca (Scott) Francis, Sarah Bilbrey, Thomas Bilbrey. The joys of her life were her great-grandchildren; Ava Schmollinger and Ayla Bilbrey. Great-grandson Simon Francis was born on June 29, 2018 and never got to meet his great-grandma.

Pat collected miniature tea sets. She loved to watch her hummingbirds drinking their nectar and other birds at the seed feeders. When the squirrels would eat at her bird feeders she would throw poker chips at the window so they wouldn’t eat her bird food.

Pat wore out two o0r three VCR’s recording all her favorite TV shows and specials. On several occasions, Pat’s fingers would start to itch and a quick trip to the casino seemed to be the cure. She loved to travel with family and friends and remembered most places visited by the food or restaurant.

Patricia was a woman of strong views and opinions on most topics and was not shy or timid when it came to expressing them. She enjoyed her time with her husband, family and friends at Bilbrey Farms. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 fro 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon.

In celebration of Pat’s life, services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Mike Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the Metro East Humane Society.
