Pauline Newsome DeBerry September 28, 1930 – March 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card PAMPLICO – Pauline Newsome DeBerry, 88, of Pamplico, SC, entered into a heavenly home on Friday, March 22, 2019. Pauline was the loving wife of Stephen Angus DeBerry. Pauline was born in Bladenboro, NC, on September 28, 1930 to J. Fletcher and Dora Newsome.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pauline will be remembered by many who were employed by Electromotive Company.

She supervised many in Florence and the facilities in Jamaica and Haiti. She was a lifelong Baptist and was a member of Pamplico First Baptist Church. Pauline is survived by her husband of 68 years and her children, Stephen A. III (Melinda), Nancy Truluck (R.M. “Woody”), Karen Maloney, and Cynthia Lentz (Carroll); eight grandchildren, Myers and Stephen Truluck, Starr Barton, Stephanie Doss (Ben), Christopher, Sarah, Patterson and Connor Lentz; and five great-grandchildren, Quincy and Delaney Barton, Adeline and Charlton Truluck, “Troup” Truluck, and Caleb Doss.

She is also survived by one brother, Parks Newsome. She was predeceased by siblings, Paul Newsome, Mildred Byrd and Evelyn Lewis. Memorials may be made to Pamplico First Baptist Church, McLeod Hospice, or to a charity of one’s choice.
