Phillip Robert Schroth Jr. passed away Sunday morning in a local hospital. He was born January 10, 1957 in Cheverly, Maryland to Phillip R. and Georgette “Sissy” (Hill) Schroth. He attended schools in Maryland and married Shirley Ann Morton there in September of 1979.

They later divorced. He worked as a nuclear pharmaceutical technician in Florida until he moved to Butte in 2009 to be closer to his daughter. He worked at the Hampton Inn here in Butte.

Family was everything to Phillip and he loved camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Michelle Schroth of Butte, daughters and son-in-law, Anne and Harold Allen of Butte and Gail Davey of Helena. Grandchildren include: Keri and Patrick McNabney, Nichole Morelli, Justin Morelli, Blake Allen, Haylei Allen, Connor Allen all of Butte, Ashley Cochran and Nicole Davey both of Helena.

Other survivors include his great-grandchildren: Syler Bailey, Addison McNabney, Leyland McNabney and Royal Morelli all of Butte as well as his sisters and brother: Linda Maxwell, Janet Fitzgerald, Albert Brooks, Frankie Ann MacDonald, Pam Quaid and Teresa MacDonald. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday Feb.
