Obituary for Phyllis Wise (Baker) Phyllis J. (Baker) Wise, 87, of York died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Ethan A. Wise. Born February 6, 1931 in York, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Viola M. (Quickel) Baker.

Phyllis retired in 1999 as an assistant manager from Dauphin Deposit. She also worked part time at various banks in the York area. Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High School.

She was a long time member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon, choir member, and served on the board for the nursery school. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club of York and volunteered at York Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki L. Babin (Chuck) of Pittsburgh; a son, Jeffrey A. Wise (Kathy Rogers) of York; 2 granddaughters, Kaila Wise of Virginia and Kelly Babin of Pittsburgh; a brother, Michael Baker (Carol) of South Carolina; a sister, Patricia Glatfelter (David) of York; and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Baker of York.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Baker, a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Norma Jean Baker, and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Carl Cooper. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

A viewing will be held Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York, PA 17402 or to Heartland Hospice, 3418 Concord Road, Suite C, York, PA 17402. We are convinced that Phyllis is reunited with her family and that they are all arguing about politics, sports and how much alcohol is in the mincemeat pies.
