Obituary for Sarah “Sue” Eicherly (Laughman) Sarah B. “Sue” Eicherly, 86, of York, died peacefully, Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Rest Haven-York. Born in Fairplay, Adams County on January 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Cletus E. Laughman and the late Ivy (Bishop) Laughman Hursh. Sue was the loving wife of the late John Hiram Eicherly; he died March 11, 2016.

Sue was a loving homemaker and an active member of Red Lion Bible Church, serving as the church’s bus driver and in the church sound room. She was the volunteer transportation coordinator for the American Cancer Society of York. The “Road to Recovery” program provided trips to cancer patients in need of transportation for their healthcare appointments.

With her sassy spirit, Sue enjoyed being with friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and butterflies, which she would hand out to lift others spirits. Even in her failing health, she found joy in giving many of her crocheted butterflies to those at Rest Haven.

Sue is survived by her sons, Darrell L. Rohrbaugh and his wife, Lori of Dover and David L. Eicherly and his wife, Mickey of Dover. She is also survived by her brother, Edward C. Laughman of Spring Grove, her half-brothers, Charles, William, and Amos Laughman, and her beloved 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Carmen L. Billet.

A funeral service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York with Pastor Steven Schmuck officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sue’s memory may be made to Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
