Obituary for Raymond M. Metscher Raymond M. Metscher 93, passed away on Sunday, December 30th at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Raymond was born on March 20, 1925 in Sheboygan Falls, WI, son of the late Oscar and Olga (Schlichting) Metscher. He was raised in Sheboygan and graduated from North High School.

Following graduation, Raymond joined the ROTC and went on to earn a degree in engineering by attending both UW-Madison & Marquette University in Milwaukee. He served from 1943-1946 with the United States Navy during WWII. Raymond married Marilyn Koenig on January 31,1948 in Milwaukee.

Ray and Marilyn raised their family in Milwaukee where Ray worked as a Production Manager at The Heil Company. He retired in 1989 after forty two years with Heil. Marilyn preceded him in death in 1997.

After Marilyn’s death, Ray moved to the summer home, he and the family/friends built in Northern Wisconsin. Ray enjoyed golfing and doing a lot of work around house and yard. Raymond is survived by his three children, Kathleen (Robert) Pollock of Aurora, Mark (Helen) Metscher of Florence and Craig (Debra) Metscher of Steamboat Springs, CO; two sisters, Marion (Eddie) Soch of Popple River, WI and Sharon (Grant) Mattes of Sheboygan, WI; seven grandchildren, Eric (Michele) Geldmeyer, Matthew (Sandy) Geldmeyer, Katie Beth (Wally) Geldmeyer, Max (Constance) Metscher, Anna Metscher, Mary Clare (Logan) Meade and Emily Metscher; two great grandchildren, Olivia Geldmeyer and Francis Metscher.

In addition to his parents and wife, Raymond was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 10:00-11:30am at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
