5, 1926, in Milford, Ill. , to Noah and Stella (Moss) Bennett. Her family moved to Texas when she was two years old.

On Sept. 25, 1945, she wed the love of her life, Irving E. Carlson and moved to Kingsford. The couple enjoyed 37 wonderful years together.

He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1983. Margaret was a lifetime member of The Order of Eastern Star Iron Mountain, Chapter 44, and spent 50 years making pasties at the Masonic Lodge on Thursdays.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain. She received her high school diploma from Kingsford High School in 1968. Her coffee pot was always on and if you left her house hungry it was your own fault.

She loved to cook, bake, read, and could not wait each year to plant her garden. Even though each year she said it was getting to be too much for her, she did it anyway, and most of the time bigger than the year before. She never wanted to be the star of the show but loved to stay behind the scenes and run the kitchen, that is where she was most comfortable.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Novinska, of Onalaska Wis. , Paula (Gordon) Sorensen of Kingsford, and Bonnie (Douglas) Hord, of Aurora, Wis. ; sisters, Eleanor England of Barge Town, Ky.

, and Bernice Baradel of Pasadena, Md. ; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hendrickson of Iron Mountain and Jeanette Bennett of Tyler, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Flynn, Killy (Tom) Mueller, Jason (Katalaine) Hord, Heather (Eric Langlois) Sorensen, Irving (Michelle) Carlson III; Christopher Novinska, Craig Novinska, Jesse (Phoutthalom) Hord, Sara (Jason) Tregillis, Cara (Jeff Steele) Novinska, Aaron Carlson, Samuel (Monica) Sorensen; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; plus a great friend that became family, Christine and Donald Sericati and their sons, Anthony and Jonathan of Breitung Township. Margaret was blessed with great neighbors for over 40 years, the Ericksons, Rietvelds, McColes and Sandy Toth.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Irving (Sandi) Carlson II; brother, Paul Bennett; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine (Edward) Dul; two infant siblings; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Arthur) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Milton Hendrickson, James “Blair” Baradel and Floyd “Buck” England; and two nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, granny, neighbor, and friend. She will be deeply missed by everybody.
