Richard “Nuck” Eugene Steward, Sr. August 23, 1940 – March 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Richard Eugene “Nuck” Steward, Sr., 78, of Springfield, WV passed away on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and his fur babies. Born on August 23, 1940 in Springfield, WV, he was the son of the late Mary Ann Steward Nelson. Nuck worked as a line worker at the Kinney Shoe Factory in Romney and was a member of the Community Bible Assembly of God.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Timbrook and a great-grandson, James Huff III. Surviving is his wife, Marie E. Leatherman Steward, eight children: Kathy Smith (Jim) of Georgetown, MD, Debbie Leatherman (Shawn) of Burlington, WV, Carol Leatherman (Jimbo) of Romney, Teresa Bauer (Fred) of Romney, Brenda Preston of Romney, Richard E. Steward Jr. (Lizzie) of Augusta, Kimmy Timbrook of Romney, Crystal Hall of Cambridge, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Tina, David, Brandi, Elisa, Shawna, Lee, Cheyanne, Brook , Dakota, Ethan; six great-grandchildren: Michael, Chloe, Bella, Dilyn, Aidyn, Kaine and a brother, Charles Nelson of Springfield, WV.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Community Bible Assembly of God Church, Springfield, WV with Pastor Jimmy Kinnamon officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Three Churches, WV. The family will receive friends on Friday evening 7:00-9:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home, 115 E. Birch Lane Romney, WV and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

The family would like to thank Springfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, nurses of Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Melissa Alt, a special nurse, and special thanks to granddaughters, Tina, Elisa, and Brandi for their loving care.
