Robert G. Mancini Sr. March 01, 1938 – March 13, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Waterbury Robert G. Mancini Sr. “Loving father, grandfather and great grandfather” Mr. Robert G. Mancini, 81, of Waterbury, died Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital in the presence of his loving family. He was the former husband of Nancy (Campanella) Mancini of Waterbury. Bob was born in Waterbury on March 1, 1938, son of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Guerrera) Mancini.

He graduated from Leavenworth High School. He worked for A. Laugeni & Sons, a bridge painting contractor of New Haven as a foreman for many years retiring in 2003. Bob was good with his hands and truly enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He loved taking pictures of his kids and enjoyed his vintage 1971 Corvette convertible. Bob collected antiques as a hobby. He enjoyed spending time with his boys and their families especially his grandchildren and great grandson.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory; 4 sons, Robert Mancini Jr. and Pamela Bosse of Wolcott, Mark Mancini and his wife Nancy of Watertown, Michael Mancini and Anuary Fret of Waterbury and David Mancini and his wife Amy of Watertown; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Hone and her husband Nicholas of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mark Mancini and Nicholas Mancini of Watertown, Chase Mancini of Waterbury, Gabriella Mancini of Florida and Nickolas Mancini and Aliza Mancini of Watertown; and a great grandson Nicholas Hone of SC. He was predeceased by his son Nicholas Mancini who he and his former wife dearly missed since 1987 and Bob’s brother, Francis “Sonny” Mancini. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday March 15, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
