Ronald Francis Karchefski, age 79, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday October 19, 2018. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Francis “Frank” and Mary Karchefski. On March 12, 1957, he was married to Velma Roberts Karchefski who preceded him in death on January 11, 2015.

A retired police officer, he was a lieutenant with the Detroit Police Department and after his move to Arkansas, worked as a patrolman for the Garland County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a United States Marine Corp veteran. He is survived by his son, Frank Karchefski of Nashville, Tennessee; his daughter, Mary Karchefski of Glenwood; four grandchildren, Francis Karchefski, Geramy Karchefski, Christopher Karchefski and Kelly Hinkle; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Irene Allen of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
