Obituary for Rosa “Nanny Bird” Booher Rosa “Nanny Bird” Booher, 74, of Bristol, VA passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Ballad Hospice House. She was born in Bluefield, WV on February 21, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Booher; her mother, Myrtle Mathena; sister, Ruthie Dickson; and brothers, Leon Mathena and Johnny Mathena.

She attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church and sold tomatoes in Bluff City and Lee Highway. She enjoyed going to Wal-Mart and eating Kentucky Fried Chicken. Rosa is survived by her daughters, Angie Welch and Betty Adkins and fiancé Bo Fleenor; son, Mark Booher and wife Brandi; step-daughter, Teresa Booher; step-son, Bobby Booher; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to all the church family and friends that prayed for her, Mary and Howard Whited, and Paul Price for all the help. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, Bristol, VA. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Paul Price and Mark Booher officiating.
