Pedersen, 71, Beardsley, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in Beardsley. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley, MN, with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.

Music will be provided by organist Carmen Hills and vocalists Sue Sykora and Stacey Borgheiinck. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley. Military honors will be provided by the August Altheide American Legion Post 302 of Beardsley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the One More coffee and card playing crew, Erv Firchau, and Kris Grooters. Active pallbearers will be David Diekmann, Conrad Diekmann, Jr., Robert Pedersen, Kevin Pedersen, Calvin Pedersen, and Jason Grooters. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church and will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.

Roy Allen Pedersen was born July 27, 1946, to Walter and Elsie (Nelson) Pedersen in Bellingham, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. Roy attended school in Folsom Township and Browns Valley High School through the tenth grade.

He then worked as a welder in Britton. From 1966 to 1970, Roy was a member of the South Dakota Army National Guard. On December 14, 1968, Roy married Marsha K. Elrite.

Roy farmed with his brother, Erwin. He also worked in Ortonville as a welder and was employed at Thompson Oil in Beardsley. Roy later worked as a welder at Superior in Morris and retired in 2013.

Roy was a member of the Beardsley American Legion, Beardsley Fire Department, and the Northern Raiders Saddle Club. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, playing cards, and driving around. Survivors include his daughter, Shelly Pedersen and son-in-law Derrick Redday of Sisseton; sister, Connie Diekmann of Beardsley; and brother, Chuck (Bev) Pedersen of Wilmot, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie; brothers, Harold, David, and Erwin (Christine) Pedersen; mother -in-law, Audrey Elrite; brother-in-law, Conrad Diekmann; nephew, Roger Pedersen; and nieces, Misty, Nicky, and Pam.
