Ruby Mae Hanson Price , June 26, 1936 — October 24, 2018

Ruby Mae Hanson Price, 82, of Westminster, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, surrounded by family at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Born June 26, 1936 in Clintonville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Bernard Hanson and Anna Mary Armentrout Hanson. She was married to the late Reverend John Olan Price for 47 years, before his death on May 23, 2005.

She is survived by 4 children: Timothy “Tim” David Price and wife Vanlalsiam (V.L.) of Libertytown; Loretta Ewell and husband Gary of Millsboro, DE; Linda Anne Price of Chesterfield, VA; Karen Price Koch and husband Jeffrey of Ashburn, VA; sisters Francis Pretty of Midlothian, VA; Stella Reece of Westminster and Mary Kathryn Knicely of Westminster. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Michael Ewell and wife Thi, Stephanie Ewell Scavone and husband Joseph, Nathan Koch, Megan Koch and Logan Price. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1954, attended Fort Wayne Bible College and Houghton College in Houghton, New York, 1957.

Between the years 1960 – 1999, Reverend and Mrs. Price served many churches in the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. She worked for most of her life as a secretary and administrative assistant and retired after 18 years at the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension Service. After moving to Carroll Lutheran Village, she enjoyed volunteering in the Chaplain’s office.

Her two passions were sewing and gardening – she was particularly proud her extensive flower gardens at her home in Seaford, Delaware. Her family was a continued of joy for her. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, sisters and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friendson Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 A.M. at Krug Chapel. Private interment services will take place in Hampstead at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery, Black Rock Rd.
