Obituary for Rudy Rodolfo “Rudy” DeAnda passed away peacefully on Friday January 4, 2019. Rudy was born May 16, 1925 to Fecundo and Amalia (Ortegon) DeAnda in Eden, Texas. He married Manuela “Minnie” Hernandez June 20, 1953.

Rudy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He came to Menard with his parents to work For George Grandsaff, Sr. in 1927. Rudy attended school at Opp school between Ft.

McKavett and Menard. He also attended school at Menard Elementary. He quit school in the 6th grade to go to work.

His first job was picking up wool for a shearing crew, and later began to shear sheep. He worked for his father and helped run the shearing machine. Rudy was the very meaning of “Jack of all Trades”, he was talented in most everything he set his mind to do.

He was a very hard-working man and had no fear of trading and buying. Rudy enjoyed trading anything, he also loved roping and ranching. He helped run the movie theater and was known to help Minnie in the Dairy Mart from time to time.

Survivors include one daughter Diana DeAnda of San Angelo, Texas, son Danny DeAnda and wife Amanda of Lubbock; Daughters-in-law Margaret and Jo Ann DeAnda, grandchildren; Laura Lee DeAnda, James DeAnda and wife Davina, Carissa DeAnda, Lacey DeAnda and Rudy DeAnda; great-grandchildren; Victoria, Vincent and Katherine Fischer, Kolby McSherry, Olivia, Canon, and Gracen DeAnda, Hali Gooding and Viviana Padilla; 1 brother, Alvino DeAnda and wife Lucy, and 1 sister Olivia Leal and husband Victor and numerous nieces and nephews. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Minnie DeAnda son Frank DeAnda, and three sisters June Garcia, Sally Garcia and Amy Lozano. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Menard Manor for all the loving care and support they have given Rudy.
