Obituary of Samuel Brooks Samuel Lee Brooks, age 83, passed away at Corning Hospital on the afternoon of April 8, 2018. Sam was currently living in Painted Post, NY and was formerly from Addison, NY. Sam was born August 27, 1934 in Waynesville, North Carolina to Walter Brooks and Carrie Brooks-Queen.

Sam served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Sam married Alice Minnelee Brown on December 22, 1954. They celebrated 63 years of marriage.

He worked at Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, retiring after 26 years. He started his career in the Foundry and finished up his time in the Value and Regulator Department. Sam is survived by his wife Alice, children: Randy (Cheryl) Brooks, Sherry (Dick) Brown, Barb (George) Brooks-Miller, Lee (Tonya) Brooks, Rick (Angie) Smith; sisters: Louise Snyder and Alphia (Harold) Willis; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by his brothers: Charlie, Arthur, James (Bud), Carl, Gerald, Clyde; grandson: Christopher Brown. Sam always had a smile on his face and a witty personality. He loved country music, going fishing and hunting, and his weekly trip to the Addison Flea Market.

He also loved to tinker on engines. Sam was an inspiration to his family. He taught his children, grandchildren to fish, hunt and play ball.

Sam always offered a helping hand to all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Heart Association. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 14th from 2pm-6pm at the East Campbell Fire Hall, 4581 Meads Creek Rd, Painted Post.
