Obituary of Marlee Wheat Marlee Jane Wheat, age 85, left us on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She was born on April 2, 1933 to Victor and Mary Hotchkiss in Corning Hospital and resided in Corning her entire life. She married Samuel P. Wheat on April 28, 1951 and had four children.

During her life she worked in many fields including nursing, bar tending, at a bakery, and catering. The one thing she loved in life was to be in the kitchen cooking for everyone and she will be dearly missed for her specialty dishes. She is survived by her sister, Jean Luther of Anchorage, Alaska, daughters, Hollie M. Ruocco (Lawrence Luther) of Anchorage, and Robin C. Mills (Thomas) of Corning, sons, Rodney L. Wheat (Linda) of Addison and Terry E. Wheat (Jody) of Campbell.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tracy Rose (Daryl), Daneille Fritsch (Andy), David Wheat (Beth), Jessica Pappano (Mike), and Trevor Ruocco (Deanna), thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She also leaves many friends and her best friend and canine companion, Bunny. Marlee was predeceased by her parents, husband, and grandson, Eric (Matty) Ruocco.

Family and friend are invited to call at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (Noon). A celebration of Marlee’s life will take place there at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Corning.
