Obituary of Maude Dunning Maude I. Dunning, age 88, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Corning Hospital. Maude was born on September 19, 1929 in Mills, PA, the daughter of the late Loren and the late Nora (Chapman) Guilds. She married Lawrence E. Dunning on November 29, 1952 at the East Lindley Baptist Church.

She worked for Ingersoll Rand and Corning, Inc. as a secretary retiring in 1995. Maude was an active member of the congregation and a lifetime member of the East Lindley Baptist Church. Maude was a strong, devoted wife and mother, that lived out her wedding vows for family sacrificing for others.

She loved people and had a gift for giving. Her generosity and willingness to always help others epitomized the standard she set for her children and grandchildren every day. She would go out of her way to make life events special for not just one person, but the entire family as well.

She also never let any of her grandchildren leave the house empty handed, whether it be apples, cookies or another tasty treat for the road. Maude was an avid athlete and some of her biggest loves in life were flowers, cats and rooting on her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees every night. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Lawrence E. Dunning of Corning, NY; daughters: Linda (Rev.

David) Prince of Trade Lake, WI and Patricia (Rev. Mark) Spaid of Naples, NY; two sons: Paul (Jeanna) Dunning of Big Flats, NY and Darryl (Bethany) Dunning of Big Flats, NY; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maude was predeceased by her brothers Max, Lewis, Lawrence; as well as sisters, Martha, Lauretta and Rebecca.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the East Lindley Baptist Church, 10039 Tannery Creek Road, Corning, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the church at 1:00 pm, Pastor Sheldon Roblyer officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Lindley, NY.

Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements. Donations in Maude’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
